The AA reveals new London rosettes for 2020/21 with Muse and The Ritz getting four each

There may be a pandemic on, but there's still plenty of room for awards season. While Michelin is delayed until next year, The AA has announced this year's new rosettes (with a virtual ceremony, of course).

The rosettes run from one to five - with the latter being particularly rare. With that in mind, here's who got an award this year (just focusing on London and on the top

GQ's 2020 Food and Drink Awards name Sketch as best restaurant

Normally this is the time of year that restaurant awards season kick off. But with the Michelin stars delayed until next year and physical ceremonies decidedly off the cards - not to mention a four-month gap when nothing was open - it's a little quieter than usual this year.

  • London's pizza joints and cocktail bars win big on the world stage

Bel-Air brings wholesome LA-fare to Farringdon with their second branch

The news is bleak. We know that. So, frankly, we're going to take the wins where we can find them and over the past week or so London has done rather well on that front. We may be an international laughing stock over our response to Covid, but at least when it comes to pizzas and cocktails we're world-beating.

The Fortnum's food and drink awards for 2020 are revealed

You aren't going to see many awards ceremonies this year, what with everything being closed and the whole social distancing thing. But that didn't deter Fortnum & Mason last night. Their awards are primarily about food writing, so this year they moved the ceremony online, presented by Claudia Winkleman as usual, and with a special guest appearance from Stephen Fry.

So here's who won an award last

  • There will be no World's 50 Best Restaurants awards this year

As there are no actual restaurants open in many places across the world right now, the people behind the World's 50 Best Restaurants have made the fairly sensible decision to delay their next awards until 2021. After all, even if there are a few restaurants open somewhere, nobody can actually travel to get to them.

So, the main list is going to be furloughed for a year, assuming that's what the announcement that the "annual list will not be released
