They're launching ASAP Pizza, which will be all about sourdough pizzas made with heritage British wheats. In charge of things is Pam
In today's "I'm sorry - what?" news we have intel on a brand new Santa Maria outlet - which has opened in a car showroom. Yes, they've set up their Brentford Pizzeria right in the heart of Duke of London which sells classic and luxury cars. Don't fancy a Jaguar E-Type? Can we interest you in a margherita instead?
At the moment, it's for delivery only, but there will be seating for up to 30 inside once regulations relax.
It's all change over at the popular Stepney City Farm where the longstanding farm-to-fork café is getting a do-over. It's going to reopen in the summer as The Allotment Kitchen run by the dynamic duo of Betty Gilbert and Lucy Cuthbert. The pair both have extensive restaurant experience (Deliciously Ella and Timmy Green being two examples) and will be serving up a seasonally inspired menu with ingredients sourced as locally as possible -
Often, a story we write is all about a new restaurant opening. And eventually Twisted London's new King's Cross venue will actually open as a counter service restaurant. Just not today. Instead, they'll launch as a delivery-only spot, like they do from their original Shoreditch location. So all the interesting dishes they come up with that are usually only available in East London should be now on offer to North Londoners too.
They've already opened successful cafes in Crouch End and Highbury and next up for Beam is a move west to Notting Hill.
Clapham Common is about to be the latest in a string of slightly eccentric, ‘fictitious-flatshare’- inspired cocktail bars from The Little Door Co. The aim is to feel like you’ve wandered into someone’s home: to embrace the house-party vibe, try some experimental cocktails, perhaps ad-lib some poetry, and wind up as a regular with a set of keys and your own personalised mug.
Taking over the site that once held classic Indian restaurant Gaylord is a pair of new openings. There's Pali Hill, serving up Indian seasonal dishes and Bandra Bhai, a basement cocktail bar that's inspired by a smuggling den.
Harrods have kicked their men's shoe department upstairs, creating a large space for their newest offering, an all day restaurant that'll be great for the kids too.
For their fourth opening, in King's Cross, the folk at BAO have decided to switch things up with an all day cafe serving breakfast for the first time and with its own bakery.
Next door to Momo in Mayfair (and referred to as its "playful cousin") Mo Diner takes the American diner concept on a spin through the Med - both with the look and the twist to all the food.
The people behind the Anchor and Hope are taking over classic Stoke Newington pub, The Clarence Tavern. Food will be as important as the booze and they're bringing an ex Great Queen Street chef to head up the kitchen.
Joining the other traders at new eco-space Buck Market on Camden High Street is Yolk Breaker, serving up all manner of eggy delights in a bun.
There’s no disputing the popularity of veganism in London, so it’s hardly surprising that Good to Go, which started life as a-based pop-up in Old Street Station in 2017 soon launched a nearby permanent site and is now opening a second, this time in Charing Cross Road, with an increased focus on its takeaway options.
Latin American bar and restaurant Cha Cha, which has outlets in Maida Vale and Mayfair is now bringing its concept to Notting Hill, but with a twist. They’ve paired up with vintage clothing store Sister Jane to entice diners to a multi-level, multi-experiential retail concept on the corner of Golborne Road. Apart from the shopping and ground-floor dining, there’s also a rooftop cocktail bar as well
Eight years after opening their massive Brasserie Zedel, restaurateurs Corbin & King are launching another affordable restaurant. Manzi's in Soho will be a homage to the much-loved Manzi's fish restaurant and will be a seafood restaurant that's both fun and affordable.
