A City restaurant has brought in an exciting new chef to charge up its evening offering. By day Farmer J serves up breakfasts and 'field trays' for lunch to City workers beside Monument. By evening it'll now turn into The Fancy Fork - with chef Shuli Wimer running the kitchen.
Wimer, who was born in Galilee, trained up at L28 in Tel Aviv and then spent five years working at The River Cafe in London will serve up a menu inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean
The prolific D&D restaurant group (who own Blueprint Cafe, German Gymnasium, Quaglinos and more) are gearing up for their next opening. Fen will be near the top of a big new building on Fenchurch St.
They've been street food legends for five years and now Sub Cult are getting a much-deserved permanent place in the City. With brand new subs along with the classics, this looks like your new City lunch spot.
We'll admit, we're quite partial to a Konditor cake, particularly their wonderful Curly Whirly concoction. And now, after a rebrand (they've dropped the "and Cook") they're heading to Bank for their next shop.
And this store will be familiar if you've visited their others, featuring all the celebration cakes you could ever want as well as salted caramel brownies, desserts and more. They'll have ten seats
The next people to get into the food hall business are The YBF's. They're teaming up with Rhubarb for this huge new food and drink area inside the big 22 Bishopsgate development.
The much-anticipated sequel to Bob Bob Ricard has opened in the City with Eric Chavot at the helm. We went to see how the millions have been spent.
Soho's iconic restaurant Bob Bob Ricard is opening a second place on the third floor of the Cheesegrater and they've got a top chef to head up the operation
Rambla's Victor Garvey is back in the City with his latest Spanish restaurant, Barullo - and this time there's added paella. We head down to try it out.
There's a distinct Spanish flavour to restaurateur Victor Garvey's new City gaff which promises to liven things up in Aldgate.
Afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason is a British institution. And now they're serving it up in the City too. We pop in to take a look.
Spanish in the City from the same people as Rambla.
Londoners do love an all-you-can-eat brunch and the new sushi one at Kaia at The Ned is a doozy.
Expect a punchy cocktail list and all manner of fun, casual dishes at this new two floored bar and restaurant in the City.
In a "well, we haven't seen anything like THAT before" move, Gordon Ramsay has been tarting up the lounge at his Bread Street Kitchen in The City. Really taking up the idea of a private room up a notch - this little space is designed like a space capsule (albeit a little more comfortable than the spaces that the Apollo astronauts had to put up with).
It fits up to eight people inside, and inside
We're already jealous of the city people who work anywhere near Bloomberg Arcade for having all those lovely places to eat on their shiny, office doorsteps. Now we're even more so at the news that Andrew Wong's Kym's is starting a Grab & Go lunch offering.
It sounds really good too. There's a choice of Cantonese Crispy Pork Belly, Soy Poached Chicken or Sichuanese Spiced Aubergine - all of which we tried on our Test Drive - and each will
