Last night, Hot Dinners popped along to The Shard for our first official Christmas party of the season. The do was to launch Vivienne Westwood's Christmas tree at aqua shard, which is part of a wider partnership the designer has entered into with the restaurant.

... - The Savoy launches its Temptation Wheel evening menu at the Thames Foyer
So this is a bit of fun. The Savoy has introduced a Temptation Wheel - a roulette game where the wheel decides what chocolates, desserts or cocktail you go for. It's to showcase the new evening menu at the hotel's Thames Foyer where they currently do afternoon tea.
The idea is that you call for the wheel, which rolled to the table on a trolley. It's then spun and depending on where it ends up you choose a dessert matched with a hand-made chocolate and

Apparently July is National Icecream Month, which may be a slightly spurious PR scheme, but is proving a rather excellent source of inspiration to London chefs it seems.
