If low beer miles are a concern, then this Battersea taproom couldn’t be a better choice - they pump their beers direct from the brewery to their tanks. Food-wise it’s British cheese and charcuterie sharing boards and toasties.

Wines by the glass is the Vagabond USP and there are more than 100 on offer here using their clever enomatic system. Battersea is also home to their winery making wines from vineyards close to London.

This huge restaurant in Soho is inspired (officially) by DC Comics. But you may well have heard it referred to as "The Batman restaurant". Essentially, it's a massive subterranean space which takes elements of various Batman stories as its theme. There are multiple areas throughout, but the immersive Monarch Theatre is an experience like no other in London.

This Korean restaurant is in a prime space at the top of Kingly Court and features a menu from the people behind TA TA Eatery - so you already know you're in for something special. Aiming for an LA Koreatown vibe, the corndogs are top-notch and their kimchi stone pot is showstopping.

Bibo sees Dani Garcia, a top Spanish chef with Michelin stars to his name, take his Bibo restaurant group to the new Mondrian hotel in Shoreditch. While rollouts can sometimes be hit or miss - this is definitely in hit territory, with an excellent tapas menu and vibe to match.

A Latin American superstar is behind this two part Soho spot. In the basement is destination cocktail bar Alma. Upstairs is the restaurant by Fernando Trocca where Latin American cuisine is served in one of London's most beautiful dining rooms.

A longstanding hit near to London Fields, E5 Bakehouse is not only one of London's best bakeries, they're one of the best cafes in the area. They have daily breakfasts and sandwiches or toasties at lunch but the weekend brunches are where it's really at.

One of London's great bakeries, The Dusty Knuckle is best known for its impeccable sourdough - particular the potato variety. That sourdough is used to make amazing sandwiches here, but there are also salads pastries and more. There are a few seats inside, but on a good day you'll want a seat outside in the yard. Look out for their evening events too where you might be able to grab a pizza.

Dom's Subs have quickly gained a reputation as being the creators of some of London's very best sandwiches. They serve up improbably huge stuffed house-baked semolina rolls with excellent meaty and veggy options to take away. It's very much a grab and go spot, but perfect for a takeaway lunch (or even better, delivery).

Having won loads of plaudits during her time heading the kitchen at London's only Michelin-starred pub The Harwood Arms, now chef Sally Abé has moved to the Conrad St James. She's in charge of all the food at the hotel and this is her main restaurant, aiming to "build on the foundations of British cuisine" with a menu that intends to be elevated but fun.

People's Choice offers pitch perfect Caribbean in Hackney, with some of London's best jerk chicken and lamb chops on offer alongside saltfish patties and lots more. It's takeaway (or delivery) only and has built up a deservedly stellar reputation locally.

This sees boutique US hotel group NoMad has expanding outside the USA for the first time and they've done it with style. It combines a world-class bar (the cocktails are truly excellent) with one of the best looking restaurants in London and became an instant hit. The Chicken Dinner is definitely worth a look and the bar is very welcome for an area of Covent Garden that isn't blessed with them.

This Korean pub is all decked out in retro 70s style, with food including Makchang BBQ and Hongdae chicken as well as kimchi jeon, bo ssam and tteok bok ki rice cakes - alongside plenty of highballs to drink.

This traditional Argentine grill is from Buenos Aires-raised John Rattagan who has brought a bit of his home to the streets of Hackney. Steaks from the parrillada grill.are at the heart of the menu, alongside mixed grills, carpaccio, empanadas, sweetbreads and plenty of Argentine wines.

The idea of opening a massive new palace of Italian food by Liverpool Street station originally seemed faintly ridiculous. Eataly proved them quite wrong - the place has done a storming business ever since it threw open its doors. Go to marvel at the huge grocery section, and then recover with a glass of Chianti and bowl of pasta in one of its many restaurants.

The Dusty Knuckle's original Dalston bakery and cafe space is stupidly popular - with queues round the block at the weekends. This is their second outpost, with more of the great potato sourdough, pastries, sandwiches and more. Plus it's a pizzeria in the evenings.

A restaurant that delivers exactly what it promises - cheese on a barge. This permanently moored boat serves up exclusively British and Irish cheeses in a range of small and large plates. As you might imagine, they also do a very good grilled cheese sandwich.

Anna Tobias is an ex-River Cafe and Rochelle Canteen chef and her first solo venture, in Bloomsbury, is backed by the people behind 40 Maltby Street and it's very much about comfort food. Keep an eye on Instagram for the daily changing menu - each one is a masterclass in great menu writing.

This alfresco space is by Two Tribes and is based just outside their King's Cross brewery. Much of it is under permanent cover (along with heaters for the colder months) and it's backed up by impressive BBQ action by From The Ashes.

Borough Market Kitchen is a collection of stalls, mini restaurant spaces and more at the back of Borough Market. With top places like Mei Mei, Tacos Padre, Juma and Shuk - you're spoiled for choice here with excellent food on offer.
