"I should probably mention the food. It’s so easy to get distracted by all of this jolly, precisely orchestrated chaos. "I don’t know if this is what Capri in the Fifties — the PR shorthand for Gloria’s look — was like. With swirling marble surfaces, a mirrored bar stretching to the ceiling, a wine room devoted to Barolo, peachy lace lampshades, stripy chintz sofas, explosions of flowers and greenery and one-way mirrors for the ladies lavatory doors, it feels pleasantly deranged."
