38 1/2 Cornhill, London EC3V 9DR

This is the second restaurant from the Cloth team, and sees them taking over an iconic building, the one that used to be Simpson's Tavern. Downstairs, it's still a traditional pub (albeit with some excellent snacks and a great wine list). Upstairs, you'll find a restaurant that has an excellent British-influenced menu with a few nods back to its days as a chophouse. Either of the spaces is well worth seeking out.

Thie Clerkenwell pub (previously The Coach and Horses) has been completely relaunched by the Public House Group, also behind The Hart and The Pelican. They've made the pub into one of the best-looking spaces in Clerkenwell with a proper pub downstairs (with pub snacks) and two dining rooms above, where the menu has a strong focus on seafood.

You always know you're going to get a nourishing bowl of amazing ramen at any branch of Tonkotsu and this one is handily right outside Finsbury Park station. Noodles, broths and more are all made from scratch and they do a rotating offering of specials too.
