With a name like that, we're talking dumplings, right?

We are. The idea is that dumplings don't travel too well in the traditional delivery model. So founders Tom and Maya decided to come up with a service that sends out frozen dumplings and gyoza that are really easy to finish off at home.

How does it work?

We gave the service a go by ordering one of their Ding Dong Favourites For Two sets. At £33.50 it contained char siu buns, gyoza and dumplings, plus microwaveable sticky rice along with dips and the ingredients for a punchy slaw.

What about the packaging?

The box comes packaged with dry ice to keep the ingredients super cold along with biodegradable steamer baskets and very clear instructions (there's a how-to video on their Insta page). There's also some wool insulation making everything inside either recyclable or biodegradable.

ding dong dumplings delivery reviewOur favourites from the ones we tested were definitely the Prawn and pork siu mai and Prawn Har Kau. The dipping sauces are worth a mention too - particularly the very moreish sesame tang.

Overall thoughts 

If you're looking for a simple, but impressive dim sum feast to knock up at home then this couldn't be easier. There are loads of options to choose from, including veggie or surf & turf and all that's needed is a frying pan and a saucepan - everything else is included for you.
