A new pizza restaurant, Yard Sale Pizza, opens on Lower Clapton Road today, offering informal dine in as well as takeaway and delivery to Hackney and the surrounding area. The Yard Sale team are three friends who ran a series of successful pop ups last summer using a pizza oven they built from scratch in their back garden.
Now with their first permanent site - and a brand new wood-fired oven - they'll be offering a pared-back menu of five staple sourdough base pizzas including 'The Holy Pepperoni' - Cobble Lane pepperoni, Napoli piccante and Nduja; 'The PSB' - purple sprouting broccoli, Parmesan, pine nuts, garlic and olive oil; and 'That Tuna One' – fresh raw tuna with an anchovy and caper paste topped with fresh rocket. The menu will also feature seasonal specials as well as a selection of homemade dips, shakes and ice creams.
For the opening week Yard Sale is collection-only but they will be offering the first 50 pizzas for free each day until June 8th. Check their Facebook page for more details of the opening offer.
