‘World of Zing’, the UK’s first contemporary food and drink emporium launches

‘World of Zing’, the UK’s first contemporary food and drink emporium launchesThe World of Zing, the UK's first contemporary food and drink emporium launches this week. The project aims to bring exceptional produce to consumers through both an online and retail emporium experience. We popped down to their launch party to take a look at what's coming.

Housed in a capacious 5000sq ft warehouse in Mile End, the indoor market is set to become a small scale food and drink mecca. Founder Pritesh Mody has invited producers from all across London to sell their unique products through this shop front.

The emporium is packed with products selected from a variety of London's food heroes and entrepreneurs. These include hot sauce from Mark 'The Ribman', artisan chocolate from Pump St Bakery and Chilli oil from the team behind the Tsuru and Tonkotsu group of Japanese restaurants, to name but a few.

The selection doesn't just stop at condiments and also includes spices, kitchen equipment and drinks. For the latter category, Pritesh has enlisted the talents of the Fluid Movement drinks consultancy, who also own and run the Worship Street Whistling Shop cocktail bar in Shoreditch. The Fluid Movement team have created a unique cocktail aging program for World of Zing. There are four classic cocktails available at the moment ranging from a steel aged Manhattan through to a Negroni which has been aged in an ex-Bordeaux barrel.

Most of the products available at the emporium are also available online by visiting www.worldofzing.com - there’s a short selection of products available at the moment with new lines being added every day.

World of Zing is also planning to take the show 'on the road', and will have a presence at some of London's most popular food markets starting from next month.

Speaking at an event last week Pritesh said "At World of Zing, we are delighted to offer aspiring food and drink artisans a platform for showcasing their produce whilst also giving consumers easy access to these products."

There’s no doubt we’ll be adding lots of products from World of Zing to our Christmas hit list.

The World of Zing HQ is open now to both members of the trade and public by prior arrangement. To organise a visit tweet @worldofzing. World of Zing can be found at GOF House, 42-44 Thomas Rd, London, E14 7BJ.

They are also currently offering a 15% launch discount for orders from their website (excluding alcohol). Use discount code "ZingLaunch" at checkout. The code is valid until 6 September.
