Westfield Stratford signs up new restaurants from Jamie Oliver to Franco Manca

When Westfield in White City first opened its doors to the public, its food offering showed how shopping centres didn't always have to be the place where food on the go went to die. And now their new shopping centre, Westfield Stratford, looks set to go one stage further with a whole host of interesting food places signed up.

Top of our list to try are the first East London Franca Manco (if the Brick Lane site doesn't open first) and the new All Star Lanes restaurant and cocktail bar headed by ex-Quaglino's head chef Steve Collins.

Other openings include Thomasina Mier's fourth Wahaca restaurant, Jamie's Italian and Comptoir Libanais. There will also be a second Chip + Fish from Pascal Aussignac and Vincent Labeyrie, the duo behind Club Gascon, whose foie gras burger won Best in Show at last week's Taste of London.

In total, the new Westfield Stratford will have no fewer than 70 places to chow down at. There'll also be a massive gastropub called The Cow, a Bumpkin, Balans, Wagamama as well as the usual suspects like McDonalds and KFC. All this and a Great Eastern Market with 16 food stalls and a cookery demonstration kitchen at the entrance to a 'will you look at the size of that?' 32,000 sq ft Waitrose food store.

Westfield Stratford opens on 13 September 2011.
