Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed will be joining forces with Mayfair's Sketch to take over the Gallery restaurant in an artwork that blurs the boundaries between art and food. Creed's Work no 1347 will apparently consist of 90 different types of marble so every table, chair and piece of cutlery will be different.
Sketch's chef Pierre Gagnaire will then create a menu "in unison with the artist’s concerns, allowing freedom to experiment and create dishes directly influenced by Creed’s artwork". No, we've not a clue what that means either, but it does sound interesting.
Creed's restaurant will open on 1 March 2012 which coincidentally is also the 10th anniversary of the opening of Sketch. It's expected to be the first of several artist collaborations with the restaurant.
