Try a real Olympian's food with Triple Jump sliders at Christopher's

christopherschefThere'll be all manner of stories going up between now and August on where to eat during the Olympics (hell, we'll probably do one ourselves) but in the meantime, you could always pop down to Covent Garden and try the food of a real-life former Olympian.

Francis Agyepong, Head Chef at Christopher's represented Team GB in the Triple Jump in both the Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996) Olympic Games and was, from 1995 to 1997, ranked in the top ten triple jumpers in the world. That's him on the right in his chef whites and when he was competing. So that makes him rather special. What also sounds rather special are the special sliders Francis has come up with to celebrate the upcoming games.

The Triple Jump sliders will be a Maryland Crab Cake Hop - a crab cake served on little gem lettuce with a red pepper mayo, a Phili Steak Step - seared beef carpaccio served in a mini roll topped with sautéed onions, melted gruyère and served with steak sauce and a Maine Lobster Jump - sliced Maine lobster fillet served in a mini roll with lettuce, tomato and basil mayo. All come served with shoestring fries. They cost £17.95 for the three and will be on the menu at Christopher's from the beginning of July to the end of the games.
