Brand new food festival Truck Stop will host over 20 street food vans in East London for six nights throughout the summer, starting on Thursday 4th July.
Jonathan Downey, the man behind Gin Stock, Rib Stock and Street Feast is setting up the feast amongst the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf with trucks including Anna Mae’s Mac ’n’ Cheese, The Bell & Brisket, The Bowler, Mama’s Jerk Station, Fishdog and The Breakfast club. There will also be a Roadside Diner with a three course soul food set menu served over four sittings from 6-10pm and a Taco Shack offering three tacos followed by a ‘chilliback’ – a shot of tequila with a habanero juice chaser.
For those more interested in a liquid dinner, Camden Town Brewery will host keg parties for groups of 15 or more with a keg of Pale Ale or Camden Hells costing £200 and serving 50 pints. Rotary, who have been at Street Feast, will also be there serving margaritas, as well as numerous craft beer stalls including Meantime and BrewDog and a ‘secret’ Boodles Gin Bar.
For a true Americana feel classic cars will be on exhibition and live Bluegrass and honky-tonk DJs will keep crowds entertained throughout.
Tickets cost £10 and will include 10 Truck Stop dollars (worth £10) to spend at the Rotary cocktail bar or on craft beer. They are available to buy here.
Truck Stop will be at Woodwharf, Canary Wharf, E5 from 5-11pm on the first Thursday and Friday of July, August and September. For more information and to see all of the trucks who’ll be trading, follow @truckstopLDN or visit www.truckstoplondon.com.
