Tommi’s Hamburger Joint, plans to open two new outlets in London this Summer. The Icelandic burger chain, which opened its first London outlet in Marylebone last year, is taking a space in Shoreditch retail mall Boxpark and is also moving from their existing Marylebone Lane location to a larger site on Thayer Street (the continuation of Marylebone High Street) just around the corner.
In just eight short months, Tommi’s, a newcomer in the market has captured the attention of both restaurant critics, receiving praise from the likes of Giles Coren and Fay Maschler, and has also been lauded by food bloggers such as Burger Anarchy, who rated their cheeseburger as one of their favourite burgers in London.
The Shoreditch site will take one of the units in the Boxpark venue (already home to Bukowski Grill, a burger restaurant that opened in 2011) and will serve the same menu as the original Marylebone lane branch although they are in the process of applying for an alcohol license.
The menu at the new Thayer Street is still to be confirmed, but we're hoping to see some new additions including boozy milkshakes, a short wine list and selection of beers. There’s no word on pricing yet, however regulars will be hoping that they retain their £9.40 burger, drink and fries offer, dubbed ‘Deal of the Century’ by Coren.
Tommi’s Marylebone Lane site closes this Friday 5th April.
