Tom Aikens to launch two restaurants at Somerset House

It certainly is a boom time for London restaurants, and particularly for the big names.  We've had Bruno Loubet's recent success and Gordon's generally well received Petrus (even if AA Gill wasn't too happy) with Bar Boulud London just around the corner.  There are much anticipated upcoming London homes for Michel Roux Junior, Pierre Koffman and Heston Blumenthal.

But if you want to really show off, then the only thing to do is to open two restaurants at the same time.  The Galvin Brothers have done it recently with La Chapelle and Cafe DeLuxe - and now Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens is getting in on the game.  Not happy with just running marathons, he's decided to open two new restaurants in Somerset House.  In June we can expect a Somerset House offshoot of Tom's Kitchen (with the same menu as the Chelsea branch) as well "Tom's Terrace" on the fabulous Somerset House terrace overlooking the Thames, which will only be open in the summer (offering "British food and sharing platters").

We'll have more details as soon as they are available - and for this and everything else that's coming soon, check out our New and upcoming hot London restaurants guide.
