What: TITU

In a nutshell: Shepherd Market gyoza bar

Summing it all up: Mayfair's Shepherd Market now has a dinky all day Japanese bar, with an ex-Novikov Head Chef in charge, serving up gyoza, soft shell crab salads and green pancakes for breakfast.

The low-down

Tucked away in Mayfair's Shepherd Market is a brand new gyoza bar called Titu. The chef behind it hasn't come bar - Jeff Tyler spent the last five years round the corner as Head Chef for the Novikov Group. Now he's decided to move from a resturant that does hundreds and hundreds of meals a day to one with seats for just 15.

In keeping with the tiny space and small seating capacity, the menu's pretty pared back to with a range of gyozas including Wagyu Beef & Black Pepper and Spicy Prawn and Asparagus & Shitake with plans to change them according to the seasons. They'll also be serving up crispy chicken wings, soft shell crab salads and we could certainly be tempted by the tonka bean beignet for dessert.

The all day restaurant, with every dish available to take away too, will have a separate breakfast offering too on weekdays with dishes like green tea pancakes and Ouef à la Coque with asparagus soldiers and watercress on offer.
