Seats for his BackBench tasting menus at Koya disappear the minute they go on sale, but if you hurry you might just get tickets to the next event featuring Koya's Head Chef Junya Yamasaki.
He's collaborating with James Lowe on a special menu on Tuesday 29th July at Lyles in Shoreditch.
The one-off dinner will feature seasonal British ingredients and be inspired by Japanese thoughts and techniques. Because the dinner takes place on ‘Doyo No Ushi', or ‘Day of the Ox’ in English it'll celebrate the eel eating culture of both Japan and England. "We have a long tradition to eat eel on that day to prepare for the hot summer in Japan," explains Junya, "believing that the vitamin rich eel will give us energy to fight against the heat."
The Lyle’s presents: Eel dinner with Junya Yamasaki takes place on Tuesday 29th July 2014 from 7-10pm. The five course set menu costs £47. To book, call them on 020 3011 1547 or email freddie@lyleslondon.com.
Lyle's is at Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6JJ
