Tickets go on sale for Harvey Nichols chefs' lunch at Surrey's Gatton Park

gatton parkWe've already written about the American dining movement Outstanding in the Field which is due to make a pitstop in the UK this Autumn, now we hear that chefs from Harvey Nichols restaurants across the country are leaving their urban kitchens to cook for diners in the countryside.

There are a number of events planned all over the country, but the one that will probably interest Londoners most is the day chefs from OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie and Prism Brasserie take their guests to the rather lovely Gatton Park in Surrey on Thursday, 16 June.

Situated 20 miles outside London, Gatton Park was once the residence of Jeremiah Colman, proprietor of Colman’s mustard and sits in a beautiful park which was landscaped by Capability Brown.

The Park is now home to The Royal Alexandra and Albert School, whose pupils help rear traditional breeds of pigs - and whose pork regularly features on Oxo Tower's menus.

The trip costs £75 per person and includes transport to and from Gatton Park (from Oxo Tower). There's a lot to see at Gatton Park so there will be tours and guests will also have a bit of free time to explore on their own before sitting down for lunch served either al fresco on the terrace or in the grand oak dining room. Dishes will be prepared on site by OXO Tower Restaurant Head Chef Jeremy Bloor and Prism head chef Daniel Sherlock and feature local produce, including as much as possible sourced from the grounds of Gatton Park itself.

Tickets for Handpicked by Harvey Nichols are available via the individual restaurants or online at http://www.harveynichols.com
