What: The Vincent
In a nutshell: All day dining in Hackney Downs from the Sebright Arms team
Summing it all up: Smoked hoisin crispy duck, healthy salads and Bunsmiths-style buns will all be on offer at The Vincent - AND there’ll be low and slow cooked ribs on Sundays.
The low-down
Now here’s some interesting news for Hackney Downs… we’ve just found out that the people responsible for doing up beloved East End boozer the Sebright Arms and Bunsmiths have a new project on the go: a new all day restaurant in Hackney Downs. The Vincent will be serving up a variety of eat in and takeaway dishes, Sunday lunches and more than enough to entice in the brunch crowd.
On the menu there’ll be dishes like smoked hoisin crispy duck with peach and pomegranate, plus Bunsmith buns with fried chicken and aioli, cheeseburgers, plus grain and rice salads.
Weekday mornings the restaurant will have pastries and coffees available to pick up on your way to work, but come the weekend, it’ll be all about the brunch, with home-smoked meat and fish up for grabs plus and baked eggs and waffles. We suggest timing your visit however to coincide with their Sunday lunch, which is said to feature ‘low and slow cooked ribs’.
Drinks will highlight local breweries with plenty of beers on offer from Hackney-based brewers Five Points and Pressure Drop - or go for a herb- or fruit-infused syrup cocktail.
“Having spent the last five years at the Sebright we are now ready for something new, so we are excited to have found a great site for The Vincent just up the road in Hackney Downs,” said Charles Ross, one of The Vincent’s co-founders.
