In March this year Robin Gill opened The Delicatessen right next door to The Dairy, just a stone’s throw from Clapham Common Tube station. It's a “a farm shop in the city” where all the produce is baked, cured, smoked and pickled in The Delicatessen production kitchen. It even comes with its own beehives and rooftop garden. There's homemade sourdough, smoked bone marrow butter, house charcuterie (pork and fennel salumi, guanciale, lardo, goose ham), terrines, rooftop honey, house pickles, jams, chutneys and lots more.
Now Robin and his team have come up with the answer to the ever-pressing question ‘Where can I go for a decent brunch in Clapham?’ Fear not, South Londoners (and North Londoners who travel), The Delicatessen team are bringing you Brunch at The Dairy by The Delicatessen, starting this Saturday 5 December.
Head Chef at The Delicatessen, Janine Edwards, formerly of Arbutus and La Fromagerie will be in the kitchen cooking up three special options:
- Spiced butter beans, chorizo, egg, hollandaise and breadcrumbs
- Smoked potato and onion tortilla, smashed avocado
- Poached quince, hazelnut granola and yogurt
Drinks will include fresh juices, tea, coffee and of course, Bloody Marys.
Brunch at The Dairy by The Delicatessen runs on Saturday and Sundays from 10 am, last orders at 12.45pm. No reservations. Takeaway is also available. The Delicatessen is at 16 The Pavement, Clapham Old Town, London SW4 OHY. Keep up with their news on Twitter @TheDeliClapham
