We're rather excited to learn this morning about a beautiful new dining room which is set to open in London next month. The Balcon, which will be on Pall Mall, sounds absolutely fabulous. Designed by Russell Sage, the man behind Hot Dinners' favourite bar of the moment, the Zetter Townhouse - it'll be a 'grand brasserie' offering Anglo-French food.
The Head Chef Chef Vincent Menager has worked under Alain Ducasse and most recently for Albert Roux at the Sofitel St James. He'll be presiding over a kitchen serving up all-day dining from morning tea with savouries to afternoon tea and then dinner. There will be a Charcuterie Bar - and what we're most thrilled by - a Champagne Balcony overlooking the main dining room complete with Champagne Angel offering expert advice on fizz. The bar will also serve up vintage cocktails from antique recipe books.
Design wise, the St James's Bar will apparently take inspiration from the interiors of Coco Chanel’s 1920’s Paris apartment.
The Balcon opens on 17 October 2011 at 8 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5NG. The reservation line will be announced mid October 2011.
