The 10 Cases bistro in Covent Garden is set to expand their operation by opening a wine store and tasting room next door to their Endell Street restaurant.
The wine store will aim to build upon the success of the original site, which opened in late 2011. Focused on simplicity, The 10 Cases quickly became popular for its unique approach to wine - the restaurant only stocks ten cases of each of its wines at any one time.
Speaking exclusively to Hot Dinners, co-owner Will Palmer said 'The original restaurant is restrictive in its nature of only ever offering 10 white and 10 red wines. Our new shop will have a much larger collection and customers will have the option of drinking in with a small corkage fee of £12.' 'We're also excited to announce that we will be re-stocking the most popular wines at The 10 Cases from over the past 18 months. Customers can now come back for wines that we've previously only had in limited quantities.' A range of enomatic tasting machines will allow customers to enjoy a glass whilst browsing or participate in tasting flights.
The new expansion will also see them serve food all day - a selection of charcuterie, cheeses, pâtés and terrines designed to match with wine as well as a takeaway selection of tartines and salads.
The store is planned to be a relaxed affair, although lunch reservations will be taken on the day. Customers dining at the restaurant will be welcome to stop by for a glass before their meal and also take wine next door.
'Our aim is to provide a lot of wine that people will be genuinely happy to browse though and delighted to drink, at surprisingly good prices,' says Will.
The 10 Cases wine store is open now.
