Tel Aviv chef Oded Oren is popping up with Lebanese wines at Borough Wine and Beers

Islington restaurant and micro-brewery Borough Wine & Beers has been keeping busy this year with a series of excellent pop-ups. They're showing no sign of letting up for the time being too. Now they've announced that the next to join will be Oded Oren, an Israeli chef who's previously worked down south in the well-received Louie Louie

This time around, Oded will be dishing up a five-course menu of Mediterranean food by way of the Middle East, so think sea bass salad with smoked tomatoes, grilled squid pitta with chickpeas and lots of fresh herbs and olive oils. Dessert will comprise of a rather nice sounding cardamom pannacotta and spiced quince.

The menu will cost £42 with wines available by the glass or bottle, but if you'd like to go a step further then book in for October 13th. Tickets will be slightly more at £57, but includes not only a tasting flight of wines from a Lebanese winery but also a thorough introduction to each wine and its pairing from Domains des Tourelles winery's own Faouzi Issa.

Oded Oren is the latest chef to take part in Borough Wine & Beer's Chef Development Series. He follows on from Adam Rawson, and fodder duo Michael Thompson and Ollie Downey.
