While everyone else in London was gawping in front of the TV at Made in Chelsea, the rest of the SW1 set were gathering at the Langham Hotel for Tatler's restaurant awards.
Somewhat surprisingly the posh mag moved out of its comfort zone and picked a few places we wouldn't have expected of them, including Columbia Road's Brawn as Best Newcomer and Polpo owner Russell Norman won Restaurateur of the Year.
Tatler Restaurant Awards winners for 2011:
- Restaurateurs of the Year: Polpo's Russell Norman and Richard Beatty
- Best restaurant: Dinner by Heston
- Best newcomer: Brawn
- Best kitchen: Koffmann's
- Best It restaraunt: Hakkasan Mayfair
- Rising star: Jesse Dunford Wood (of The Mall Tavern)
- Best front of house: Stephen Macintosh and Paulo de Tarso at Bar Boulud
- Best wine list: Launceston Place
- Test of time award: Joe Allen
And... Lifetime achievement award: Ruth Rogers of the River Cafe.
