A tapas joint in a shopping mall may not seem like a must-visit destination, but Omar Allibhoy's Tapas Revolution at Westfield in Shepherds Bush has been an oasis amongst the chains. Previously trained by Ferran Adria and part of the launch of El Pirata Detapas, he's gained plaudits at Westfield from high-profile foodies including the Guardian's John Lanchester.
Now he's expanding to another shopping mall, Bluewater, which is revamping its dining area into "the Plaza". In addition to trusted chains like Jamie's Italian and Wahaca Allibhoy will be launching his second Tapas revolution.
The new branch will feature an open planned kitchen with bar and will be designed by award-winning DesignSLM, who have been behind Galvin La Chapelle, Goodman and Roti Chai among others. The tapas bar will be open all day, so weary shoppers can start with a Spanish breakfast of chorizo, patatas bravas and eggs, and wind up the day with cava and tapas.
The new Tapas Revolution will be launching on 14th November.
