Streetfood events have bloomed all of a sudden over the past few weeks. We've been inundated with news of exciting new events including Truckstop - Streetfeast's Summer residency in Canary Wharf, the extension of KERB to Saturday's at Kings Cross, the launch of Hoxton food market and the next edition of FEAST in Brick Lane.
Now South Londoners can also get in on the action with the announcement of the Riverboat Food Fest, being held at The Tamesis Dock this weekend. Situated on the banks of the Thames near Vauxhall, this quirky boat-pub has teamed up with recommendations website Twenty Something London to invite 15 street food chefs to curate this unique event.
Running for three nights from Thursday 27th through Saturday 29th June, the festival will showcase five chefs per night, each creating one dish for the night. The lineup of traders consists of familiar favourites including Horn Ok Please, Sweet Tooth Factory and Wild Game co as well as newcomers Kimchinary and Waffle On.
A £25 ticket covers entry and a 5 course meal. Cocktails (made using a range of boutique spirits) are £5 each. Non-drinkers will also be catered for with Tea served by Good and Proper and Italian coffee from Netil Market's Terrone. Pascale, co-founder of Twenty Something London commented on the festival saying; ‘This is not your usual street food event. Many of the dishes available at the festival are bespoke and one-of-a-kind, curated specifically for Riverboat as an opportunity for London's growing number of street-food chefs to showcase their unbelievable talents’.
Tickets for the festival are available from Billetto, where you can choose between 6:45pm or 9:30pm sittings.
