You may have seen them on Druid Street Market and their recent (VERY good) residencies and now there's great news that TĀ TĀ have a permanent restaurant on the way.
TA TA is run by Zijun Meng and Ana Gonçalves both with very impressive backgrounds as ex-Viajante and Chiltern Firehouse and their cooking reflects their Chinese and Portuguese roots. They're joining up with Matt Broughton and Jeremy Duffy of Curio Cabal to set up CURIO + TĀ TĀ in the Haggerston coffee shop.
The menu will continue their love of rice and everything on offer - that's snacks, hot plates and cold dishes - will be designed to go with a bowl of rice. It's all encouraged to be eaten "Chinese family style". There will be brand new dishes and the following faves from will also be making an appearance:
- Peanuts, served braised, with edamame and celery
- Congee - Asian rice porridge with rich chicken stock, herb sauce, crispy skin and dough sticks
- Shime Saba, charred and pickled mackerel
It'll all seat 34, open for dinner, Thursday through Saturday from 6pm. And there will be a 60 seater alfresco spot for cocktails and snacks too.
CURIO + TĀ TĀ opens on 16 June 2016 at 258 Kingsland Rd, London E8 4DG. For more, follow them on Twitter @CurioandTaTa. To book, email bookings@curioandtata.co.uk.
