Brazilian temaki are handheld sushi rolls wrapped in a crisp nori cone that, from a distance, look like particularly healthy ice-creams. Originally a Japanese food, they're big in Brazil which has plenty of popular temakeria restaurants. And now the first temakeria in London has just launched with Yoobi in Soho.
Yoobi's temaki are served freshly made-to-order (apparently taking under 60 seconds to prepare) with creations like the Spanish-influenced Tuna Tartar or Japanese pear mixed with 20-hour cured Salmon. Vegetarians can try the Avocado and Asparagus or Sunkissed Tomato temaki. Price-wise they range from simple (£3.20) to deluxe (£4).
Juices, smoothies, healthy snacks and a range of specially selected teas are available and they also offer takeaway, dine-in and delivery (within a mile).
Yoobi is open now on 38 Lexington Street, London W1F 0LL. Opening hours Mon-Sat 9am - 9pm.
