In the run up to a special Surrealist Art sale at Sotheby’s this coming Tuesday, the auction house's Café will be serving a special Surrealist Tea every day from 3-4.45pm.
The tea menu includes savoury scones with chilli jam and goats cheese, an Earl Grey cupcake with sugar Dalie melting clock, and Magritte-esque “I’m not a biscuit” biscuits. Drinks are pink lemonade and Surrealist tea. Best of all you get to swing by the galleries beforehand to enjoy major works by Dali, Magritte, Miro and others before they're sold.
The Surrealist Tea can be had from today through to Tuesday next week including Saturday and Sunday. It costs £18 or £24 with a glass of champagne and looks quite as pretty as a picture (sorry - couldn't resist). They're advising bookings.
Sotheby's Cafe is at 34-35 New Bond Street, London W1A 2AA. To book call 0207 293 5077.
