They're currently running a popular residency at the Princess Alice on Commercial Road, and now chicken masters Spit and Roast are inviting more street food traders down to join the party. They'll be hosting a series of Jamborees at the pub, where you'll have the chance to try more street food in the warmth of the pub.
We caught up with Spit and Roast's Justin Unsworth to find out more.
What can you tell us about the Jamborees?
This will be the first of a series of Jamborees showcasing Spit & Roast and fellow street food traders in the glorious dining room of The Princess Alice pub. The guest traders will be bringing their signature dishes to compliment Spit & Roast's fare.
And who's in for the first Jamboree?
This time round it's The Orange Buffalo kicking things off with their outstanding wings and a selection of their stunning house made sauces. Then there's our good selves serving up a down and dirty seafood gumbo followed by our classic fried chicken and plenty of southern sides. Rounding things off on a sweet note are You Doughnut with their freshly cooked doughnut bites, ice cream and decadent home made sauces. Just the ticket to keep winter's dirge at bay.
And it'll start on the roof?
The prosecco reception will be on the roof terrace (with spectacular views over the city and Spitalfields) and before the cold can seep in we will descend to the dining room with its dark wood panelling, full bar and communal bierkeller style seating. Food will be dished up swiftly and in generous quantity! The evening will be soundtracked by some choice rare groove, soul and more and we're hoping guests will stay with us to enjoy the cracking atmosphere and 2am licence.
The Spit & Roast Jamboree is at the Princess Alice at 40 Commercial Street on February 8 at 7pm. Tickets will be £25 and be available on Friday - keep an eye on @spitandroast on twitter for details and we'll add the link here too.
