Soho House has been keeping a dirty little secret. The global members club, hotel and restaurant group has recently unveiled 'Dirty Burger, a new venture aimed at serving simple, high quality burgers which Hot Dinners can exclusively reveal will open to the public in Kentish Town next week.
A departure from the contemporary, well-dressed image synonymous with the Soho House brand, Dirty Burger is a quirky and casual operation which sees grills and deep fryers bundled into a small corrugated iron shelter. Next Wednesday Dirty Burger will open in its first location round the back of Pizza East and Chicken Shop, Soho House's new restaurants in Kentish Town.
Far from being a slap together operation, the food at Dirty Burger has been developed by head chefs at Soho House who have set out to create 'the best burger in town'. Months of research, development and burger eating have gone into producing the final menu, featuring house-prepared ingredients some of which have been specifically developed for the concept.
Menu items include:
• The Dirty Burger, a classic cheeseburger with an aged beef patty, cheese, tomato, lettuce, ‘French’s’ mustard in a custom baked glazed bun
• The Dirty Breakfast, featuring a fried egg on top of a sausage and haggis patty or a slab of house-cured bacon with a smudge of brown sauce
• Homemade crinkle-cut fries and onion rings
On the drinks front, Bierra Morretti and Pale Ale from nearby Camden brewery are available on draft. And best of all, the whole experience is more Kentish Town than Soho prices with the Dirty Breakfast Burger costing just £3.50 and the Dirty Burger £5.50.
Customers can eat in or take away at Dirty Burger, which will be open seven days a week from 7am through till midnight (and until 1am in the weekends).
Dirty Burger opens to the public on Wednesday 22 August in Highgate Studios, Kentish Town. NW5 1PB. Follow @dirtyburger on twitter for the latest news and updates about its whereabouts.
