What: Silver Lining
In a nutshell: Creative seasonal small plates from the people behind the Every Cloud cocktail bar
Summing it all up: Silver Lining is the new restaurant counterpart to luxury outlet Hackney Walk’s popular Every Cloud cocktail bar. With its cozy environment and creative menu it looks like it could be just the job.
The low-down
Love a good spot of word play? Get ready for this one. Exceptionally charming cocktail bar Every Cloud, with drinks by Felix Cohen, of famed cocktail bar The Manhattan Project in Hackney Walk, the new luxury clothing outlet tucked away between Homerton and Hackney Central, now has a new neighbour - a restaurant called (wait for it)... Silver Lining!
The restaurant is owned by Alistair Maddox who ran Broadway Market for a decade so he's a chap who knows his food. Silver Lining will have seasonal menus of small plates which'll be on rotation. Eventually, there’ll be brunch options coming in for the weekender crew as well, but for now the focus will be on the evening seating. And Every Cloud will be turning out the aperitifs.
The menu’s got quite an international, creative feel, with plenty of noticeable influence from the diverse surroundings, visible in dishes like the Jerk Chicken Scotch Egg with Mango & Papaya Hot Sauce, or Charred Aubergine with a Creamy Walnut Za’atar, Pickled Turmeric & Chive.
And we have to admit, we’re dying to try the weird-yet-great sounding Pomegranate Bavette, Pearl Barley & Black Garlic Yogurt.
