Want to know what the perfect environment for tasting whisky is? Well, whisky maker Singleton is joining forces with Mark Hix and others and launching a free two-day food and whisky tasting pop-up to find out.
The Singleton Taste Room will be setting up shop at 33 Portland Place in a classic Georgian glass ceilinged room. The installation will be focused on creating the best possible whisky tasting environment - with everything from music, furniture and food organised around that. The food element specifically will see Mark Hix creating bespoke food and whisky pairings in an effort to create the perfect dish to serve with Singleton whisky, promising to "evoke the flavours of Scotland where he goes fishing every summer".
He'll be joined by Gilles Peterson who is tasked with creating the perfect playlist, Dominic Wilcox whose job is to pic the single best glass to drink malt whisky from, Max Lamb who will find the ultimate seating and Daniel Poole who is charged with harmonising every element
in the room. Plus there will be loads more artworks designed to complement the whisky.
And best of all - the event is completely free - just get to 33 Portland Place between 6pm and 9pm on 27th & 28th September to take part. Although we'd warn you to expect a queue...
The Singleton Taste Room will be at 33 Portland Place on 27th & 28th September, from 6pm-9pm. Entry is free.
