We may now be linked to France with a tunnel, but there's no reason to head to Paris when it can come to London. Which is exactly what's happening this Spring when the Ritz Paris’s Bar Hemingway heads this way for a week-long residency at The Connaught Bar in Mayfair.
From 7–13 April 2014 Colin Field of the Bar Hemingway and Agostino Perrone, director of mixology at the Connaught Bar – will be working side by side in an alcoholic entente cordiale. They'll be coming up with two wholly new cocktails. You'll also be able to try Field’s famed cocktails, Serendipity (a blend of mint, apple juice, Calvados and Champagne) and the Ritz 75 (his take on a French 75 using gin instead of Cognac) alongside The Connaught’s signature martini.
The idea for the cross-Channel cocktail swap came when the Bar Hemingway prepared to close for restoration. “While the restoration of the Bar Hemingway is being completed, it’s so wonderful to take what we do at the Ritz Paris on tour to another great hotel bar," says Fields.
The Connaught Bar is open 4pm to 1am Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.
