City workers should look out for two familiar faces today as Raymond Blanc and Thomasina Miers turn street food traders to serve up some teatime burritos.
The event marks Blanc's appointment as President to the Sustainable Restaurant Association. He'll be joining Wahaca founder Thomasina in a Mexican street food van outside Wahaca in Canary Wharf and serving out food from 4pm.
Blanc kickstarted his tenure of the SRA by issuing a call to London's diners to demand more from restaurants when it came to issues of greater transparency, urging them to ask questions about the provenance of a restaurant's food, whether they can take home leftovers and what exactly is the policy on tips?
