What: #Rawmen
In a nutshell: Another Japanese pop-up from Adam Rawson in Islington, this time focusing on ramen.
Summing it all up: Dine on 18-hour pork broth ramen, chicken karaage and milk cheesecake with sansho pepper in an Islington nano-brewery, thanks to Adam Rawson’s #Rawmen pop-up, this time running for just two weeks.
The low-down
We have to admit, we’re a tad disappointed we missed out on Adam Rawson’s fleeting Sakura pop-up, which is why it’s great news he’s at it again with #Rawmen.
After a not-unexpected sell-out run of Sakura in Borough Wines & Beers, he’s turning his hand yet again to Japanese cuisine. This time, it's ramen in the spotlight. The #Rawmen pop-up will run for two weeks, and will officially be located in Brewery Below, a nano-brewery run by Borough Wine & Beers. It'll have a few options for diners to choose from, picking from a set menu that will run you £25 a head.
For starters, choose from cucumber tsukemono or chicken karaage with yuzu mayonnaise, while for mains your choices will include Hakata Ramen, with 18-hour pork broth, and Shoyu Miso Ramen with soy, both served with preserved bean sprouts, pickled mustard green and sesame.
There’ll be puddings too - the famous milk cheesecake from Sakura is back, which has an extra kick by way of tongue-tingling sansho pepper.
Borough Wines will be primed and ready to provide drinks again, with sake cocktails, Brewery Below beer and a wine list available on tap by the glass or carafe.
It’s bound to be popular, so if you’re keen make sure you book well in advance using the ticket link on the Borough Wine’s homepage. https://boroughwines.co.uk/20-04-29-04-adam-rawsons-rawmen-pop-up-ramen-bar/
