In a nutshell: Quique Dacosta does paella
Summing it all up: Multiple Michelin-starred Quique Dacosta is coming to the UK. With help from the people behind Iberica, this restaurant will have heaps of traditional paella to sample
Quique Dacosta, who's the proud owner of not only multiple Michelin stars, but also a coveted spot in the Top 100 Restaurants in the World, will be bringing his paella know-how to London. In Paella will be backed by the Iberica chain, including former Carluccio chairman and current Iberica director Stephen Gee, and Iberica founder Marcos Fernandez.
As expected, details are being closely guarded, but what we do know (according to Big Hospitality) is that there should be 25 meters of stove, designed to provide ample quantities of paella for those keen to sample the traditional Spanish dish.
Dacosta has been described as 'the standard bearer for Spain's modernist movement' and a master of 'capturing the essence of the Mediterranean', making us all the more interested to sample his take on paella. He was awarded three Michelin stars for his Quique Dacosta restaurant in Denia, and one Michelin star at El Poblet in Valencia. So yes, we should be in for some very fine paella here. And don't expect any chorizo.
