The first London Restaurant Festival opened in style last night with a glitzy party at London’s revamped Quaglino’s restaurant, hosted by Vanity Fair. Chefs and celebs were in attendance – as were the restaurant’s famous cigarette girls, brought back for the evening by D&D London.
Among the guests scarfing down canapés such as H Forman smoked salmon on pumpernickel, boudin of pike and lobster and fish goujons and chips were Richard Corrigan, Tom Aikens, Soho House’s Nick Jones, Waitrose Food Illustrated editor William Sitwell and Celebrity Masterchef winner 2008 Liz McClarlon.
It was a suitably glamorous start to what looks to be a very successful week of activitity. Hot Dinners will be reporting back on events over the next seven days – including the Gourmet Odyssey and Starter for Ten food quiz so follow us on Twitter here.
