Polpo Smithfield opens for business on 30 July

polpoGot a hell of a scoop for you today - with news on the opening date (and special preview deal) for Russell Norman's new Clerkenwell place.

Luke Bishop, the Group General Manager confirmed to us today that Polpo Smithfield will open for business on Monday 30th July. They'll be doing previews for the first two days - Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st - for both lunch and dinner with a massive 50% off the entire bill. Yes, that's a half price meal which includes both food and drink. You'll be able to book for lunch on both days, but dinner will be for walk-ins only, so expect a crowd on Cowcross Street when word gets out.

The reservations line will open on Wednesday 25th July at 10am - put it in your contacts list - it's 020 7250 0034.

Heading up the kitchen will be Libby Greenfield, ex-Zucca and Polpetto and front of house will be run by Arno Karsten, ex-Great Eastern Dining Rooms and Mishkin's.

Polpo Ltd Group GM Luke Bishop told us: "We are very excited to be opening Polpo in Clerkenwell, particularly as the restaurant is so close to Smithfield, one of central London's last remaining food markets. It has been designed once again by Russell Norman and it could actually be our prettiest restaurant to date with possibly the naughtiest basement, housing our neon-lit Negroni Bar."

Polpo Smithfield, 3 Cowcross Street, London EC1M 6DR. For more details on what to expect, read our news story here.
