Dalston's Roof Park is the venue for an interesting series of events called Nice to Meet You which combine talk, music and food and are run by Art Wednesday. The talk side of things for the first event on 11 July is being given by Wired mag's Editor at Large Ben Hammersley. The music will be Pixie Geldof and her new band Violet and then there's the food, courtesy of Funthyme.
On the menu will be pulled pork burgers (natch) with American cheese, jalapeno mayo and crispy onions. There's also old spot and black pudding faggots, as well as sherry soaked medjool dates stuffed with dolcelatte and wrapped in home-candied bacon. If you're bringing along a vegetarian - they're also catered for with a butternut burger with walnut pesto, pickled shroom and virgin date.
Plus, if you reckon yourself to be a real nose-to-tailer, there are apparently prizes for eating certain bits of the pig - like the pig's snout.
This is the first of three events (the others will take place on 15 August and 12 September).
Things kick off at 6.30pm on 11 July at Dalston Roof Park, The Print House, 18 Ashwin Street, London E8 3DL. For tickets go to http://ntmy2.eventbrite.com/
