Seems like someone at London Underground has finally got with the programme and realised the potential they have to be a real force in the London food scene. Following on from Crosstown's pop-up at Piccadilly Circus (and Foxcroft & Ginger's new spot at Old Street) comes Pilau at Leicester Square.
Billed as the first pop-up restaurant to open in a West End tube station, the folk behind it have impeccable credentials. George Pitkeathley used to work at Quo Vadis & Holborn Dining Room and Ollie Norman used to work for the Polpo Group - and yes with a name like that he is related, he's Russell's son.
Look out for PILAU near the Chinatown exit where they will be serving up Indian street wraps including Butter Chicken, Lamb & Marrow and a Spiced Paneer at £4. It's not just takeaway - there's also a diddy dining area with four seats.
