Pig cheeks in space - astronauts get Michelin food

Lucky old astronauts. Not only do they enjoy a rather fine view of the planet from their orbit, but they’ve just taken delivery of a series of dishes from a German three-Michelin-starred chef. According to the Telegraph, Harald Folhfahrt (no, we didn’t make his name up) has come up with dishes including braised veal cheeks with wild mushrooms, white bean purees, Swabian potato soup and plum compote to tempt the astronauts' appetites.

Keeping with the fahrt theme – we hear there’s a new pop-up cafe in town. For one week only the It Has To Be Heinz Café is operating at 3-10 Shoreditch High Street, serving nothing but beans on toast. It’s open today (Tuesday), Wednesday and Thursday from 7am to 3pm – diners are expected to give a suggested donation of 50p.

Out of town: Sat Bains is planning to expand his Nottingham empire with the addition of a tapas-style bar/restaurant with counter dining and a large terrace for families. According to Caterersearch he’s just put a bid in on a site in Nottingham.
