He's already got restaurants at the National Gallery, Kew Gardens and Wallace Collection (among others) and has just opened his latest venture at the Royal Academy. Keeper's House at the Royal Academy of Arts features a 40-seat restaurant and cocktail bar.
The Restaurant is headed up by Chef Ivan Simeoli (ex-Massimo Bottura in Italy) and ex-Roganic pastry chef Glyn Gordon. The menu for Autumn features dishes such as flamed leeks with ewe’s milk and Forge Farm squash (£9.50) and Scottish Borders partridge with hazelnut, black cabbage and crisp pear (£18.50).
Both seasonal and foraged ingredients feature in the cocktail list at The Shenkman Bar - how about nettle cordial with aromatised wine, gin and bitters or maybe crab apple with apple cider vinegar, agave, tequila and mezcal? The bar will have its own snack menu including squid crackling with Cornish crab (£8.50) and salty cobnuts (£4.50).
The only catch to all this is that you'll need to be a Royal Academician, Friend or Patron to try it out between 10am until 4pm. But from 4pm until midnight (until 6pm Sunday) Monday to Saturday it'll be open to the public.
Keeper’s House is now open at the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BD To book call 020 7300 5881.
