Nutbourne brings all-English countryside fare to Battersea from the Gladwins

Nutbourne to bring all-English countryside fare to Battersea

South London has - rather quietly - seen the launch of a new waterside brasserie as Nutbourne opens its doors in Battersea.

The all-day brasserie and grill comes from the Gladwin brothers (behind Rabbit and more) and are aiming to serve up the finest countryside fare that England has to offer. They’ll be sourcing the vast majority of the ingredients from their farm, so think hearty local ingredients with a modern edge.

On offer, there’ll be trout doughnut served with confit egg yolk, grouse with rowan berry jelly and cheddar, or veal sweetbreads with a mustard jus. Or if you prefer your meat a touch less cooked, try the steak tartare which you’ll be able to customise the dish to your heart’s content thanks to their trolley service, which will let you pick and mix your ideal meat-to-caper ratio at your table.

Another major selling point for the Nutbourne is the extensive wine list, offering over 150 different types of tipple. There’ll also be seasonal cocktails, all with a quintessentially British flavour, like the gin-based Green Fingered Gardener, or the Berry Collins.

Set in Ransomes Dock, one of the leafy south’s many waterside locations, the Nutbourne also has an impressive outdoor dining space, complete with foliage, trees and water features.

Nutbourne is open now at 29 Ransomes Dock, 35-37 Parkgate Road, SW11 4NP, Tuesday - Thursday 8am-11pm, Friday - Saturday 8am-12pm and Sunday 11am-8pm. Follow Nutbourne on Twitter @NutbourneSW11 and Instagram @nutbourne_resto.
