Nose to Tail fortnight kicks off for London's restaurants

nosetotailSorry if we're a little behind the times, but we've only just found out about Nose to Tail fortnight which actually started on Monday this week. It's an exercise by London Food Link's Ethical Eats who've been asking restaurants to get creative with nose-to-tail meat use, by putting a special (or specials) on their menus featuring offal or another unloved cut between 30 April and 14 May 2012.

A whole host of London restaurants and chefs have risen to the challenge. So Blanch and Shock for example will run a one-off dinner at the Russett in Hackney using a massive wild boar head, which they're going to break down and serve in various preparations along with other less-used cuts. Over at the Dock Kitchen, they have a dinner on 8 May where chef and author Anissa Helou has teamed up with Stevie Parle to put together an offal-based meal. Call 020 8962 1610 to book.
