North Road's Christoffer Hruskova popping up at Verden in Clapton

North Road's Christoffer Hruskova popping up at Verden in Clapton

Christoffer Hruskova's North Road in Smithfield was a big hit with critics and Michelin alike, but sadly the restaurant closed down at the end of 2012. But now the chef is back for a two week stint at the appropriately Nordic looking Verden in Clapton.

He's joining up with the same forager he worked with at North Road, Peter Studzinski who will be picking the best from the South Coast and the New Forest.

Hruskova will be serving up a special dinner menu which will include (but will change throughout the two week period):

  • Celeriac "Tacos" (£4)
  • Crispy chicken skin and smoked cheese (£3.50)
  • Veal sweetbread, nettles pure, spicy leaves and cheese whey (£10)
  • Lamb belly with turnips, wild garlic and unripe elderberries (£14.50)
  • Monkfish, broccoli, sea arrow grass, sea lettuce and mussel juice (£17)
  • Rye bread porridge, beetroot sorbet and milk (£6)
  • Marshmallow, licorice, pine and juniper (£6)

Christoffer Hruskova will be at Verden from 21 March to the 5th April 2015 and you can book now on 0208 986 4723. Find out more about Verden.
