New champagne bars for Paddington and Paramount

champagnebarIt's the festive season and what better way to celebrate Christmas than with a glass of two of fizz? Perfect timing then for the new champagne bar which opened yesterday at Paddington station. It's the latest in the Searcy's chain of champagne bars - they also run the ones at St Pancras and Westfield - and is going to focus on British sparkling wine producers with wines such as Balfour Brut Rosé,

The food on offer at the Paddington Champagne bar is a range of small plates including cured British meats from Trealy Farm, fine cheeses served with a Champagne jelly, sharing boards and daily seafood choices

Paddington is apparently just the latest in a long line of champagne bars being planned for the Searcy's chain. We wouldn't be at all suprised to see them in the new Westfield Stratford when it opens in Autumn 2011.

Paramount's new champagne bar
If that news wasn't enough to wet your whistle, then watch out for another new champagne bar opening in W1 next year. We were pretty wowed by our first visit to The Paramount bar at London's centrepoint - the cocktails were pretty good, but the view - dear God - was fantastic. So we're looking forward to trying the new champagne and oyster bar that's opening there on the viewing gallery on the building's 32nd floor, above the current restaurant and events space in Spring 2011.
