Murakami is a contemporary Japanese restaurant that is set to open on St Martin's Lane this January. Taking over what used to be Jamie's Wine Bar, Murakami will specialise in sushi, sashimi and dishes from the robata grill. Examples of dishes include:
- yellowtail carpaccio with chili, ponzu & pickled garlic dressing
- smoked eel & avocado salad
- whole seabass with ginger sauce
Running front of house will be Luca Chisesi - previously restaurant manager at Coya. He'll be presiding over a room with a sushi bar seating up to eight and a robata grill with room for the same. There'll also be a private dining room with room for 40 people.
There's an equal emphasis on drinks - with a cocktail list created by Shrub & Shutter to pair with the food using Japanese ingredients as much as possible. They'll also have plenty of Japanese whiskey to try.
Murakami are now open at 63-66 St Martin’s Lane, London WC2N 4JS. They're open right now with a soft launch offer of 30% off the food bill but check this is still running before you book.
