More high rise dining on the way with 20 Fenchurch Street

More high rise dining on the way with 20 Fenchurch StreetLondon's high-rise dining scene continues to grow with a new player entering the field as the next London skyscraper, 20 Fenchurch Street (apparently nick-named the "walkie talkie" because of its shape), enters its final stages of construction.

This 37 storey building is right in the middle of the City, only a few minutes walk from both the Heron Tower (Duck & Waffle, Sushisamba) and the NatWest Tower (which will see Jason Atherton set up shop in place of Rhodes 24 later in the year).  The building has brought in catering company rhubarb, who also look after the Royal Albert Hall's food and Bond & Brook in Fenwicks. They're putting together three venues on floors 35-37, promising 360 degree views of the capital. This includes a pretty impressive looking (from the designs) indoor garden space called the Sky Garden.

The three areas include a "food bar" on the 35th floor serving "champagne and canapés", a brasserie on the 36th floor, and a seafood bar and grill on the 37th. That's all we know at the moment, but rhubarb are keen to point out that they have Heston Blumenthal on the team too, and he'll be running some "events" in the building too.

20 Fenchurch Street is planned to open in April 2014. We'll get more info on the new restaurants as soon as we can.
